Miles Davis once commented: “Everybody ought to get down on their knees one day and thank Duke.” Many jazz enthusiasts will agree with Miles, for we were introduced to the wonderful world of jazz by Duke Ellington's music. This
all-star octet plays the music of Ellington and Strayhorn with new arrangements from the internationally acknowledged expert, Tony Faulkner. The musicians, all major names, are united in their love of and ability to interpret Ellington's music and wield the power and dynamics of a much bigger band. All in all, an evening of swinging and accessible jazz is promised!
